Unicorn

Unicorn

Silvered horn on frosted brow

Beard streams long and low

In silence eye to eye is seen

Lost fantasies between

Hooves of golden luminance

In steady rhythms dance

Softly come the footfall

To mysteries fragile wall

Tail sweeps the forest floor

A Princess’ flowing gown

Low the heart beat resonates

A shimmering of sound

Mane of moonlit filigree

Weaves quite like the sea

Pirouette of symphonies

It dances in the breeze

Gleaming coat of satin snow

Pure in innocence glow

Beckoning the purest touch

Of yesteryear and such

Fairy steed of days of yore

Comes the Unicorn once more

With Maiden’s fair of grace

To hold its shining place
